September 27th, 2008 Placerville CA - Scott Russell and Team headed to Placerville Speedway for the season finale California Civil War 360 Sprint car series race.  Scott would Qualify with a Lap of 10.709 putting him in the 15th quick position.  Scott would then start in the 3rd heat race on the outside of the 2nd row.  Scott would quickly make work of the 3x of Alissa Geving, and maintain the 3rd position transferring Scott straight into the A main event. 
  In the Main event, Scott would start in the 12th position, but after a couple of red Flags on the initial starts, Scott would eventually start in the 9th position.  On the Start Scott would get shuffled back a couple of spots, to 11th, but on lap 7, Scott would get back by the 25 of Justin Johnson, and dig himself into the 10th place.  Scott would  try hard to pass, but on a track that for this night was a little too hooked up, it was just too hard to get around anyone. 
  "We tried a couple of different things tonight which did not really work out too well for us, but we have been so close with this car to winning, that we just wanted to try something a little more drastic to see if it would get us over the hump and and bring us the win", Says Scott Russell.  "It looks like what we did was a little too extreme but we will learn from it, move on and make it better for our next race."
